We will start visiting a village with a great archaeological importance located at 60 km from San Pedro de Atacama called "Tulor Village", inhabited 2, 800 years ago BC. Due to weather changes and the desert advance this village was covered by the sand. Today only 4% of the village has been recovered. After that we will visit the Pucara de Quitor fort located at 3 km of San Pedro de Atacama and at 2,440m above sea level. Constructed, in the XII century, by stone and sun-dried clay brick this fort show to us the great social organization that the atacameƱos had.
Next we will visit another historical place; The Incas ruins of the "Tambo de Catarpe". This place was the operational center of the Inca government. Finally, we're going to end this travel visiting the Museum of the Father le Paige, who identified the first vestiges found in the Tulor village in 1958. In this place we will know the interesting activities that old "licanantais" or "atacameƱos" used to do.
